Cursillo / Ultreya
What We Do
The Cursillo Movement is a worldwide movement within the Catholic Church that helps Catholics deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and live out what is fundamental to being a Christian. The word Cursillo means “short course.” It begins with a three-day weekend experience designed to inspire participants to encounter Christ in a personal way and to equip them to bring the Gospel into their everyday environments.
Ultreya, meaning “Onward!”, is the ongoing gathering of those who have lived a Cursillo weekend. These regular meetings provide encouragement, friendship, prayer, and mutual support, helping Cursillistas continue growing in faith and perseverance while keeping the spirit of the Cursillo experience alive.
Roles and Responsibilities
Encourage and support fellow Cursillistas in their journey of discipleship.
Participate in a Cursillo three-day weekend.
Attend regular Ultreya gatherings for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement.
Grow in holiness through prayer, study, and Christian action.
Witness to Jesus Christ in your family, workplace, parish, and community by living your Catholic faith with joy and conviction.
